Located in a traditional “estancia” on the banks of the Paraná River, our air-conditioned lodge provides the perfect balance between wilderness and comfort. Five well-appointed rooms accommodate up to 10 anglers. Our professional chef, will delight you with a blend of local flavors and international cuisine. The boats are docked just a few steps from your room and a short ride to the fishing action. This provides for a quick easy return to the comforts of the lodge for lunch between fishing sessions.

How to get here

From Buenos Aires you will fly north to either Corrientes (CNQ) or Resistencia (RES) Airports.

Aerolineas Argentinas Airlines provides 3 daily flights. A lodge representative will be waiting to greet you at the airport. Your private airport to lodge transfer takes approximately 45 minutes from the Corrientes Airport and approximately 90 minutes from the Resistencia Airport.

Fishing:

This section of the Parana River is the tail water of the Yacyreta Hydroelectric Dam, which is located approximately 90 miles upstream. The resulting clear and stable water conditions produces the ideal environment for fly fishing.

The mythical Dorado (SalminusMaxillosus) is clearly the main target in this fishery. We target Dorado that range in size between 4 and 30 pounds however we have caught 40-pound fish.

The fishing will be done using boats specially designed for fly fishing (length of 17 feet) and equipped with 90 HP four-stroke outboard engines. Each boat also has a bow-mounted remotely controlled electric trolling motor. This allows for a silent approach to the fishing areas. We will be fishing primarily in the margins of the main river, tips of Islands, stone outcroppings, deadfall trees and braided channels.
Two other highly valued species can be captured on the fly during this visit: Pacu and Pirapita. Both species are omnivores as they feed on fruit, flowers, bugs, small fish, mice and lizards. These fish are the ideal target when casting surface patterns in the smaller river channels

Fishing Gear

We recommend that you bring your own personal fishing gear. Our team will supply backup rods and reels if needed. Also, all necessary flies and leaders will be provided.

Rods for Golden Dorado
• Primary rod is an 8 weight, 9 ft, 4-piece, fast action rod with a good fighting butt.
• Second rod is another 8 weight, 9 ft, 4-piece, fast action rods with a good fighting butt.
• You can also substitute a 9 weight. (It is nice to have two rods strung up, one with a floating line and the other with a tropical intermediate line.)
Rods for Pacu and Pira Pita
• Primary rod is a 6-weight, 9 ft, 4-piece, fast action. You can also use your 8-weight rod.
Reels
• Two or three quality reels with good drag systems. Reels should be loaded with a minimum of 150 yards of 30 lb backing.
Lines
• Rio Tropical Intermediate WF I/I
• Rio Red Fish WFF
• All lines should be tropical due to water/air temperatures.
Tippet
• Saltwater Mono 25/30/40/50 lb.
